冷芯盒射芯机采用的是气体硬化法，用树脂射砂后，通以气体使砂芯硬化。射芯机上另装有通气板，射砂慢盒后，将芯盒工作台稍稍下降一段距离，在射头与芯盒之间插入通气板，再将芯盒与通气板压紧，这时由通气板引入硬化气体，从芯盒顶上的射孔引入砂芯，并穿过砂芯经下面的排气孔排出，经过短时间通气使砂芯硬化，砂芯硬化后，再通过通气板通入空气，使空气穿过已硬化的砂芯，将残留在砂芯中的有毒的硬化气体冲洗除去，残气通过排气孔排入专门的净化装置。
